Teaching Teachers!
So, so very different teaching adults! I am really very used to my little ones. It is a plus that my class is filled with fellow teachers. They understand when I slip and say boys and girls or give a "thumbs up".Reviewing collaborative social dialogue and effective praise and then just about done with the summer course. I am enjoying this class--a great group!

Research is on my mind!
Although I have taught this course to fellow teachers many times, I still prepare as if it were my first session. I review and revise and be on the constant lookout for something new that might be effective. I have read so much research this weekend that my head is full of strategies. Here's hoping that I can present it all in manner that it is relevant and usable for my participants! I guess I'll start finding out tomorrow!

Summer Sosltice!!!
Could not ask for a better start to the summer in Northeast Pa than today and yesterday! Really sunny and beautiful! Trying to carefully soak in some Vitamin D and relax. Start teaching my adult class this Monday. So very different than 5 year olds, but I enjoy it. It's fun to present and discuss research and different strategies with adults. I always walk away with new ideas.Lots of new material to present now, too. Along with the basics of my course we have common core standards and new methods of teacher observations to learn all about.Very busy this past week with preparations but I think I'm ready and hope my participants leave thinking they've learned something worthwhile!

Summer Reading
Before I begin teaching my adult class, next week, I am going to set up my summer reading. Love my Kindle, so I will be using my Mother's Day gift cards to download a few good mysteries. Found out last summer, they offer a ton of really old mysteries and other stories free of charge or for 99 cents. Last summer, I read a whole lot! I always try to read at least one educational book during the summer. This year, it's a real easy choice for me. I attended the Pa Positive Behavior School Wide Implementor's Forum last month. It was one of the best conferences I have ever been to. The keynote speaker was amazing, Principal El from Phila. This summer, I plan to read anything written by Principal El!!!

School's out, Summer's here and I already miss my babies!
Wow, another school year done! It is such a strange feeling, at the end of every year, to know I have to let this group go. It's time for first grade! After 33 years, I still feel as if I am letting my own babies go.I hope they always remember, Kindergarten is the place to be!
