Thinking back to school ideas in midsummer!

OK,  fellow teachers, do you find yourself thinking about getting ready for back to school when  it is only mid summer? As much as I always say that I'm not going to do that this summer, I always do. Today, I pulled out a Harry Wong DVD about behavior management in the first few weeks of school. I really love Harry Wong and although I know it by heart, I watched his DVD. I will probably watch it again when we get very close to going back to school. I love it!

Children's Library Event!

The Library Express in Downtown Scranton PA at the Steamtown Mall really puts on great events for the children. My husband volunteered for a cartooning demonstration and lesson.The kids were great!

Excitement in Scranton,PA!

Well it's hot and humid so I am definitely moving in slow motion. But my daughter met Derek Jeter in  Downtown Scranton, PA! He is recovering from an injury and playing with our local minor league team. I know nothing about baseball but this was pretty exciting.

Lazy Days!

Hope everyone is enjoying a great 4th of July!We've had a lot of rain and thick humidity lately. For now, the day is dry.Just relaxing with family and the musical 1776. If you've not seen it, you should. It's great! My husband will grill, so I really can be lazy all day long, not even kindle today.I have been out shopping  this week with my youngest daughter, she is moving into her first apartment. Got a find for September at the Dollar Tree. I love that store. I think elementary teachers are the only people in the world who regularly spend a fortune at the dollar store. They had really good sized cookie sheets. I bought 5 for my centers. I use them for literacy and number sense. We word build and do one to one correspondence with magnets.I'm sure I will be at the dollar store lots more!

Kindle Time!

Summer Teaching Course finished! Checking Pinterest already for back to school ideas. Going to take a "mystery" break and read my Kindle. Best way in the world to relax. I give it 3 days and I'll be back to looking for ideas for my new  batch of Kindergarten kids!
